Tales of Xillia

I think I'm starting to hate the "Tales of" games, specially the characters and their behaviors through the game, like I said on Abyss, in my opinion their behaviors go from one extreme to another with unrealistic ease. Also the humor, I think it's very nice to have jokes or fun behaviors and I laughed at them on many ocassions, but I don't like how it is implemented along the story, the best example any scene with Ivar on it. These things make me loose interest on the story

Thankfully it has many good things, the pace is pretty good, the end is a bit rushed but still not a big issue. Like in Tales of Graces, There's no world map, though this time the world scenarios are bigger and with lots of secrets to find, I really spend hours exploring them. However I can only remember a few dungeons, it seems they have sacrificed the amount of dungeons in favor of these big world enviroments.

Combat is excellent as always altough I prefered Graces F system, Xillia got some nice additions too, like the linking with a partner giving different benefits depending on the character plus fighting and making nice chain attacks together. And allies are dumb as always too, sometimes I performed better with them dead.

Customization is good, the skill "trees" are pretty good and clever, it could've been better because it kinda forces me to go on one way. Also there's no crafting on this game, but instead there's a shop level system similar to Disgaea where bought/sold items increase its level so do the quality of the items sold, I think it worked out pretty good.

Did I like it? It was okay.
I think you will like it if you:
- Love "Tales of" series
- Like non-turn-based jrpgs
- Don't hate anime style

I rate my experience with a 7.0 out of 10
