Panzer Dragoon Saga

I find surprising how Team Andromeda managed to convert their shooter on-rails saga into a suprisingly epic rpg. To me Panzer Dragoon Saga is one of the best games I've ever played.

This game is so unique:

- The ambientation, while some may see the world as empty due technical or lazyness reasons, to me it just helps to feel like I'm in a really lonely and  desolated world which magnifies the post-apocalyptic atmosphere.

- Artistically, the dragons, the monsters, characters, locations, everything looks very original, I really wish there were more japanese games out there with this style instead of the overused anime style.

- Exploration is divided in two, first there's the usual "on foot" exploration usually on towns, and then there's the exploration done mounted on the dragon which is something very refreshing. Both exploration styles have a way to inspect things with a cursor similar to the point&click adventures.

- On the customization side, we find the usual equipment options plus some excellent dragon choices that affect on it's form, combat performance and skills learned. I think this is on par with the latests rpgs.

- Combat is where it shines the most, it uses the so efficient active time battle system implemented on its own way and it offers a 4-way movement around the enemy to find it's weakness or avoid his stronger attacks,  this is what gives more strategic options to every combat, specially on boss fights which are really intense.

Could this game be better? Yes, maybe it is too short, but I wouldn't dare to tell the developers how to improve it,  I'm thankfull for this game as it is.

Did I like it? Yes, thanks.
I think you will like it if you:
-You're looking for an unusual rpg.

I rate my experience with a 9.5 out of 10.
